The actual dollhouse is from about 20 years ago. Eddie made it for me back when we lived in an apartment in Hollywood. After that, Steve and I used it in a Halloween window display at our store. Next, we used it in our TV show, “Witch Crafts.” Then when I moved to Glendale, I started displaying it (without furniture) on my front yard for Trick-or-treat night. For the past few years, I have been working on it slowly and the girls are my little helpers. They love it so much. This haunted dollhouse has come a long way!
I’m already planning on what I will add next year! I’ll be adding drapes to each room and making over the ceilings. I’m planning to do a faux tin tile ceiling in the kitchen. The spell room is going to get a crystal ball table and more book shelves. The bedroom is getting some handmade pillows.
THE KICTHEN
The floors in the entire house are made with scrapbook paper and Mod Podge. The how to is in the blog.
The chair railing is made with moulding. I painted it to match the scrapbook paper / wallpaper. I gave it was dirty wash with water thinned brown FolkArt paint.
The art in the kitchen is was created with scrapbooking embellishments.
I tried to add as many real decorations as possible.

The living room is set for a grown-up game of Ouija board and sweets with tea.
The floors are lace scrapbook paper.
This paper is my favorite in the entire house!
The stairs were painted a dirty red. The art if from a post card.
Next year, I’m adding a second sweets table under the stairs.
The lamps don’t work but they add so much to the details

The Spells Room
This is the spells room…. where all the potions are mixed!
Faux tile scrapbook paper is was the perfect find for the flooring.
The walls are painted to look like a old venetian plaster.

The Bedroom
This is a pretty special bed! It is from my original dollhouse from when I was 5-years old!
More Paper Floors…. this time with a border.
The walls were created by using Mod Podge to attach color-copied ribbons.
I love the little spiderweb carpet.
I made the little spider pillow.

The stage is set for kids ghoulish games and halloween donuts.

So I have my dollhouse from 35 years ago that my dad built me, just sitting in garage in the way because I had 2 boys and no girls. My husband keeps trying to get rid of it, but now I am going to clear a space for it in my craft room and redo it ala haunted house style. I have not looked at doll house stuff in years, but for the food and pumpkins and things, did you actually buy those or did you make them with Sculpy or something? This is just really awesome and I am so excited to clean my craft room up to start on mine, My hubby is happy too!
