Make This: Fabric Pendants with Rubber Stamps and Mod Podge

Got Fabric Scraps and Mod Podge?

I am so excited to share this project with you!  I always have tons of little scrap fabrics and of course I have a gazillion rubber stamps so I tried to design a project that would blend the two.

After experimenting and lots of trial and error, I created Fabric Stamped Pendants!  They are so addicting to make!  I used fabric Mod Podge for the glue and sealer and top coated them with Dimensional Magic.  The Dimensional Magic gives the pendant the hard gloss finish.

Instructions

Measure the height and width of your stamped image.  Add 1” to the height measurement.  Double the width and add 1” to the measurement.  Cut a piece of fabric to this size.

Working on one edge, rubberstamp your image to the fabric.  Allow to dry 4 hours or heat set with an iron.

Apply a very thin coat of fabric Mod Podge to the back of the fabric.  Fold the fabric over so the edges meet. Let dry for 4 hours. Very Important!

Coat the front and back of the fabric with a thin coat of Mod Podge. Let dry for 4 hours.

Cut around your stamped image, leaving a small border.

Add an eyelet to the top center.

Add a even layer of Dimensional Magic to the top of the stamped image. Let dry 5 hours in a non-drafty location.

Glue gems to the top of the design.

Cut a length of chain to fit your neck.  Using pliers attach a clasp to each end of the chain with jump-rings.  Thread a jump-ring through the eyelet and attach to the center of the chain.  Add more jump-rings to create a longer dangle pendant.  Add a bow to the top of the pendant.
