Ya know I love a quick craft and these bullet journal covers are so easy to make. You can use your favorite scrapbook papers, wrapping papers, old greeting cards…really any papers you want. I used Mod Podge Satin to create the altered notebook covers. The paper selection is from Michaels…. I love the fun “stay wild” theme. The embellishments add extra pop to the notebooks. I used a mix of gems and ribbons to finish off each journal.
The basic steps for the journal covers are so simple…. You can whip them up in no time.
- Lightly sand the cover of paper or plastic composition notebook. I like to use 80 grit sandpaper.
- Trace the size of the cover onto the back of a piece of scrapbook paper. I like to use a pencil so I can erase any marks. Trim your paper to size. Don’t stress if you paper is a little big too large.
- Apply Mod Podge Satin to the back of the paper. Position the paper onto the cover of the notebook. Use your fingers to press-out any air bubbles. Let the paper dry for 15 min and then top-coat.
- Add additional layers of paper designs.
- Once the Mod Podge is totally dry, use hot glue to attach ribbons, rhinestones and other embellishments.
If you have followed my crafty adventures then you probably know that I am a huge fan of paper packs. I love that you can create coordinated looks with just 1 pack of paper. This set was from Michaels.
This notebook, we kept simple with just a one piece of scrapbook paper. I love this design! So cute!
For this wild side bullet journal, we layered lots of cut papers to the background paper.
Once dry, we added gems and ribbons to the design.
On this “Go Wild” design, we added Mod Podge sparkle and Mega Glitter to add a little sparkle to the cover.
